Position: Lieutenant - Staff Resource (#016032) Perry Correctional Institutional, Pelzer (GREENVILLE) Level 3
Job Responsibilities

* Under general supervision, this position ensures the safety and security of institutional staff by patrolling grounds, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies.

* Develops and implements crime prevention strategies, provides guidance and resources to staff.

* Collaborates with administration to address behavioral issues and training needs.

* Through proactive security assessments and mentorships this position fosters a safe, professional, and supportive work environment.

Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.

SCDC

Minimum Requirements:

* A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.

* A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (associate and above = 1 year).

* Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
