As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, screen visitors and belongings, verify credentials, and monitor activity to support a secure environment. You will provide professional customer service, use technology to document and communicate incidents, and may drive as part of assigned duties.

** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.

+ Control access to designated buildings, offices, and restricted areas by verifying credentials, screening visitors, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized individuals in accordance with site procedures.

+ Monitor entry points, alarms, cameras, and/or communications equipment; report unusual activity, access concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting emergency services or site leadership when appropriate.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

* Minimum Requirements:

* + A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.

+ Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.

+ X-ray screening experience is preferred.

+ Customer service experience is preferred.

+ Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
