Grading/Utility Team Member

Job Summary:
C.R. Jackson is hiring Grading/Utility Team Members to support site development and roadway preparation projects. In this role, you'll help install essential underground utilities - including stormwater, water, and sewer systems - and assist with grading operations. You'll work as part of a skilled crew to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality job performance.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with installation of stormwater, water, and sewer utilities
• Support grading operations using shovels, levels, and GPS equipment
• Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections
• Keep equipment clean and job sites organized
• Help with general housekeeping and other labor tasks as needed
• Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors
• Maintain a safety-first mindset and deliver high-quality work
• Comply with all company safety rules and procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Must be 18 and have a valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good attendance and safety record
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to travel to job sites within South Carolina as needed
• Willing to work nights or weekends based on project schedules
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and meet background standards

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Walk on uneven or rough surfaces
• Climb on and off heavy equipment safely
• Work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, rain, and noise
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and nearby equipment
