Charlotte Mechanical Skilled Plumber

Charlotte Mechanical is a well-respected Multi-Family mechanical contractor with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. As we continue to grow in the Columbia, SC market, we are seeking an experienced Skilled Plumber to join our construction team.

The Skilled Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems. Candidates must have experience with both rough-in plumbing and fixture installation, and be capable of working independently while maintaining Charlotte Mechanical's standards for quality, productivity, and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in accordance with project specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Perform plumbing rough-ins, including underground, above-ground waste, vent, water, and storm piping systems.
  • Install and set plumbing fixtures, trim, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install piping systems and plumbing components.
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues in the field.
  • Coordinate work with project supervisors, contractors, and other trades.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and efficiently while meeting project schedules.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of plumbing experience preferred.
  • Proven experience with rough-in plumbing and fixture installation required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites.

Must have experience in multi-family plumbing construction.

Must have rough-in and fixture installation experience.

Must pass a drug screen.

Must pass a background check.

Must have own hand tools.

Valid driver's license preferred.
