CGI is seeking an experienced Generative AI Developer to develop and enhance AI powered applications within a large scale financial services environment. This is a hands on development role focused on building Generative AI capabilities using Python and modern cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on AWS. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.

This role is located at a client site in either Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC or Birmingham, AL. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

CGI is seeking an experienced Generative AI Developer to develop and enhance AI powered applications within a large scale financial services environment. This is a hands on development role focused on building Generative AI capabilities using Python and modern cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on AWS. The Generative AI Developer will work with business and technology teams to translate requirements and use cases into reliable, production ready AI solutions.

Responsibilities will include developing Python based applications and services, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications, testing application functionality, troubleshooting issues, and supporting solutions throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate brings at least five years of hands on Python development experience along with practical knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, APIs, and AWS cloud services.

This individual should be comfortable working in a complex enterprise environment where security, scalability, reliability, and software quality are important considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Generative AI applications and services using Python.
• Build application functionality that incorporates Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI capabilities.
• Integrate AI capabilities with existing enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
• Develop and support AI solutions within an AWS based environment.
• Work with prompt engineering, LLM APIs, and related Generative AI development techniques to address business use cases.
• Develop APIs and back end services that enable applications to interact with AI models and supporting data sources.
• Participate throughout the SDLC, including requirements analysis, development, unit testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and implementation support.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable Python code suitable for enterprise applications.
• Perform unit testing and troubleshoot issues identified during development and testing cycles.
• Collaborate with developers, QA teams, business analysts, and other technical stakeholders to deliver AI enabled application capabilities.
• Follow established enterprise development, security, testing, and deployment standards.
• Stay current with evolving Generative AI technologies and apply relevant capabilities to practical business problems.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of hands on Python development experience, including development of enterprise applications or services.
• Hands on experience developing Generative AI applications or AI enabled software solutions.
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and how they are incorporated into applications.
• Experience working with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and Generative AI development patterns.
• Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS cloud environments.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs, back end services, and application integrations using Python.
• Experience integrating applications with databases, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
• Understanding of techniques used to provide enterprise data and context to LLM powered applications; experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with vector search, embeddings, or vector databases is a plus.
• Experience with AWS AI/ML and application services is preferred; exposure to Amazon Bedrock is particularly valuable.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern software development practices.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving application defects.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated software delivery practices.
• Understanding of secure development practices, particularly when working with enterprise data and AI applications.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to turn business use cases into working technical solutions.
