Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer
CGI is seeking a Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer with Python to support the development, modernization, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications within a large scale financial services environment. This is a hands on development opportunity for an early career engineer with foundational experience in Java and/or Python, AWS, REST APIs, and modern software development practices. The developer will work with experienced team members to develop and enhance applications, assist with platform upgrades and migrations, troubleshoot application and cloud deployment issues, and support secure and reliable enterprise systems.
This role is located at a client site in either Lafayette, LA, Birmingham, AL, Columbia, SC or Knoxville, TN. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
The role works closely with developers, QA, Dev Ops, product teams, and other technology partners in an Agile environment. Candidates should be eager to learn, comfortable working collaboratively, and able to troubleshoot technical issues with guidance from senior team members. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience developing applications within a large scale, highly regulated enterprise environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role include: 2+ years of software development experience using Java and/or Python, foundational knowledge of AWS and cloud computing concepts; exposure to services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, ALB, SSM, SQS, SNS, or Lambda is beneficial. Experience developing or working with REST APIs. Familiarity with Spring/Spring Boot or a comparable application framework. Basic understanding of application development, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with automated and unit testing concepts; exposure to tools such as Cucumber or Karate is a plus. Understanding of software development practices, object oriented programming, and maintainable code. Familiarity with Git and source control workflows. Exposure to development and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Jira, IntelliJ, Tomcat/J2EE, or comparable technologies. Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Basic understanding of CI/CD, application deployments, code coverage, vulnerability remediation, and application monitoring.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively with cross functional teams. Ability to learn new technologies and apply feedback from more experienced team members. Ability to manage assigned tasks and priorities while escalating issues appropriately.
Desired Skillset: AWS certification or progress toward an AWS certification. Exposure to Spring/Spring Boot. Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, ALB, SSM, SQS, SNS, and Lambda. Familiarity with Cucumber, Karate, or other automated testing frameworks. Exposure to Jenkins or other CI/CD tools. Previous internship, co op, academic project, or professional experience developing cloud based applications. Familiarity with financial services or other regulated enterprise environments.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role.
Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $76,900.00 $.
