In concert with the Vice President for Advancement, develop and implement comprehensive processes and strategies for use of database(s) and technology in resource acquisition and enhanced donor relations. Lead strategies for a comprehensive communication plan.
Essential Functions- Provide leadership in planning, implementing and maintaining processes and procedures that ensure the best use of donor and related databases, software, etc., to increase resource acquisition (including Raiser's Edge, scholarship management, named spaces inventory, online giving, and website).
- Provide leadership in developing and executing a comprehensive annual giving program with alumni as an emphasis.
- Lead collaboration and coordination to grow and execute a comprehensive communication plan that includes effective strategies for respective areas within the office.
- Collaborate with donor recognition and appreciation initiatives.
- Determine necessary data for reports, analyze and provide insights for decision‑making and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as internal resource and expert for donor software to manage donor relationships, online donation forms, and track fundraising performance.
- Capture artifacts and related data that provide accurate demographic information coupled with a robust understanding of relationships, interactions, patterns, giving history, etc.
- Support identification of alumni and their relationships to the college to aid in their cultivation and solicitation for sponsor ships, annual giving, capital, planned, and major gifts.
- Cross‑train for ticketing system and for financial functions such as fund deposit, check writing and purchasing (including Banner and Jaggaer or similar programs).
- Participate in community and donor networking opportunities.
- Coordinate with and assist other development officers and staff in advancement/foundation initiatives.
- Support development and oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment, progression, retention, and graduation growth for the service area.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge of public activities and internal projects, policies and procedures of the College and Foundation.
- Remain current in knowledge, programs, events, and trends that result in an effective college advancement office.
- Participate in college committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in development, higher education, data management, or experience that would provide transfer of applicable skills.
- Proficiency with varied databases, software programs, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, including strong skills with mail merge functions.
- Experience learning new computer/software programs.
- Strong research skills and ability to ask questions.
- Able to work with others and seek understanding.
- Self‑motivated to plan, implement and execute.
- Frequent use of personal computers and related equipment.
- Normal use of telephone and standard office equipment.
- Some travel to attend meetings, professional development training, events or other business‑related functions.
- Frequent sitting with screen time.
- Movement in an office and campus environment.
- Some lifting of boxes, materials up to 25 pounds.
- Work outside of normal business hours as required.
Hiring Salary Range: $58,650 – $67,730
This position is based at the Columbia, TN Campus.
