Commercial Construction Estimator (Glass Industry Preferred)
Position Summary
Prepare accurate commercial construction estimates. Glass estimating experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from commercial construction trades with blueprint reading, takeoff, and bidding experience are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties
- Review plans, specifications, and addenda.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Solicit vendor pricing.
- Prepare proposals and submit bids on time.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risks.
- Coordinate with project managers and purchasing.
- Price change orders.
- Maintain estimating files and bid documentation.
- Build relationships with general contractors.
- Support project turnover after award.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years commercial construction estimating experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Excellent organization and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial glass estimating.
- Storefront, curtain wall, and Division 08 knowledge.
- Project management experience.
