Team members work in a hands‑on setting where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are central to daily operations.
The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbia, TN. This position is responsible for reviewing project requests, interpreting drawings and specifications, and preparing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial glass projects. Day-to-day tasks include calculating material and labor requirements, obtaining pricing from suppliers, and creating detailed proposals for clients. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, installers, and office staff to ensure estimates align with production capabilities and timelines.
The role also includes updating estimates as project scopes change, maintaining records of bids, and supporting customer communication to clarify project details and costs.
- Estimation and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret project drawings, perform measurements, and calculate materials, labor, and time requirements.
- Knowledge of glass products and installation methods, such as residential and commercial glazing, shower enclosures, window repair, and architectural glass applications.
- Proficiency with basic office and estimation tools (e.g., spreadsheets, measuring tools, and job costing software) and the ability to maintain organized project documentation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for discussing project scopes, presenting estimates, and coordinating with internal teams and clients.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, safety awareness, and the ability to prioritize multiple bids and deadlines.
- Previous experience in construction, glazing, or a related trade is preferred; prior estimating experience in the glass or building industry is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework in construction, drafting, or project management is beneficial.
