To preserve the bank's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments, recovering collateral, and/or managing the timely disposition of repossessed or foreclosed collateral. To assist with timely recognition of problem assets and risk concerns. The position will also assist with various bankruptcy and other legal filings. The position will also be responsible for compiling reports for various department and management levels within the Bank.
This position also serves as Secretary to the Special Assets Committee.
- 40% Contacts delinquent accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current. Requires frequent interaction with the bank’s Relationship Managers and members of management. Also requires regular interaction with the bank’s legal counsel.
- 15% Maintains accurate files and reports on all collections activity. Manages all collections/special assets invoices including processing for payment, tracking for each borrower, and assessing to loan accounts appropriately.
- 10% Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess or foreclose collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful; manages the disposition of repossessed collateral; and assists with the management and disposition of foreclosed assets.
- 10% Serves as Secretary to the Special Assets Committee and is responsible for all committee meetings. Responsibilities include setting meeting dates, reserving meeting space and sending calendar invitations, managing the material preparation timeline, preparation of all special assets material for the meeting package, collection of all Rated Loan Memos (RLMs), assembling and publishing meeting packets, managing remote attendance during meetings, and completion of minutes.
- 5% Compiles or completes departmental, management, or Board level reports for Special Assets, Credit Administration, or Senior Management on a monthly and quarterly basis and as needed.
- 5% Files claims against debtor estates, creditor claims in bankruptcy, claims in confiscation hearings or assists with other legal and regulatory filings as necessary.
- 5% Assists the Special Assets Officer with timely and accurate identification of risk rating changes as warranted for consumer loans, including completing risk rating change forms and tracking risk rating changes through to completion. Manage the quarterly credit grade affirmation process for commercial and business banking loans.
- 5% Perform annual online verifications of property tax payments for all non-escrowed consumer real estate loans that are rated pass watch or worse. Manage the property tax delinquency process for all commercial real estate loans via the LERETA platform and process.
- 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Experience
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
