Systems Administrator, Windows Server, Disaster Recovery IT
Compensation: $40+/hr (W2) during contract with long-term conversion potential
Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm
Start Date: ASAP
We're looking for a System Administrator to join a small infrastructure team supporting a well-established Tennessee organization. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working across a broad range of technologies rather than focusing on a single specialty.
The environment is heavily centered around Windows Server and Active Directory, but you'll also spend time supporting VMware, Microsoft 365, Exchange, networking, storage, backups, and infrastructure projects. No two days are exactly the same, which is part of what makes the role interesting.
What You'll Be Doing- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user access, and related services
- Support VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines and host administration
- Assist with Microsoft 365 and Exchange administration
- Troubleshoot issues involving servers, storage, networking, and enterprise applications
- Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical problems
- Participate in upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure improvements
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Assist with infrastructure projects and occasionally lead smaller initiatives
- 3+ years of Systems Administration experience
- Strong Active Directory administration experience
- VMware experience in a production environment
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and/or Exchange
- Solid troubleshooting skills with a track record of identifying root causes, not just temporary fixes
- Comfortable supporting multiple technologies in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Enterprise storage and backup experience
- High availability or disaster recovery experience
- Experience mentoring junior administrators or serving as a technical escalation point
