Special Education Teacher - Columbiana, Alabama

You’ll work with a dedicated group of students within an assigned caseload, fostering growth and development alongside supportive colleagues. The contract spans from August 4, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. Locations include elementary and intermediate school campuses as well as middle/high, providing a varied and meaningful teaching experience within your licensure area.

• Active and verifiable Special Education Teacher certification in Alabama (certification lookup)
• K-6 Certification required for inclusion positions
• 6-12 Certification accepted for both self-contained and inclusion roles
• Previous teaching experience in special education settings preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a student-centered mindset
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and families

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP
• Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and adjust strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Engage with families to ensure student success
