POSITION TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant
FLSA: Exempt
SALARY: $62,332.80 yearly
WORK DAYS: 240
LOCATION: Finance Division/MCPEC
REPORTS TO: Director of Accounting
Primary Function: The job of Senior Staff Accountant is done for the purpose/s of providing oversight of staff accountants; performing various account reconciliations, grant management, and collection and consolidation of financial information in order to facilitate sound business decisions.
REQUIREMENTSExperience:
Five or more years of accounting experience.
Activities:
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
school budgeting, policies and audit procedures; concepts of grammar and punctuation; principles of public and fund accounting and budgeting, knowledge of OMB Uniform Grant Guidance, knowledge of multi-fund governmental accounting, internal control policies and audit activities.
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks using existing skills. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including using a variety of software applications including Excel, Word, Power Point and Access; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment.
Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities, communicating with diverse groups and individuals; meeting deadlines and schedules;
setting priorities; working as part of a team; and working with detailed information/data.
