University Advancement

This position will manage the accounting department of the Foundations (CSU Foundation, Inc., CSU Athletic Fund, Inc., and Alumni Association, Inc.). This job includes responsibility for maintaining a complete general ledger for each of the three Foundations.

Significant Duties &

Responsibilities include:

Full responsibility of all aspects of the general ledger for the Foundations. Including reconciling present donor tracking system (Raisers Edge) to include proper recording of incoming revenue, gifts, and pledges with General Ledger (Financial Edge). Reconciliations of all cash, investments, receivables, payables, income and expense accounts.;
Staff representative for the CSU Alumni and CSU Athletic Fund foundations.;
Maintain appropriate cash balances to optimize returns.;
Maintain appropriate liquidity to enable the foundations to pay expenses.;
Directly participate in key initiatives and strategies to enable the foundations to support CSU.;
Responsible for ensuring systems of internal controls are in place to safeguard the foundation's assets.;
Oversee and coordinate activities of independent auditors and the preparation of annual financial statements, form 990 tax filings and other regulatory reporting.;
Integral member of the team to develop a formal budget and supervises budgeting process, providing an appropriate standard of measurement.;
Prepare monthly accounting reports to appropriate departments.;
Make all necessary adjustments to the general ledger system to reflect accurate status of assets, revenue and expenses for the 3 Foundations.;
Prepare financial statements (Income Statements and Balance sheets), and other financial reports (budget reports) requested for Foundation, Alumni, and Athletics.;
Monitor investment balances and record all information to the general ledger.;
Prepare all year end close-out entries and close books for the Columbus State University Foundation, Alumni, and Athletic Fund.;
Provide support reports, and financial data to the advancement office, alumni executive, and athletic personnel as needed.;
Work with various departments concerning budgets by way of providing information and analysis and install annual budgets into the accounting system.;
Revise and update existing accounting system to simplify and expedite procedures.;
