Job Summary
Coordinate arrangements for holding meetings and other gatherings on behalf of a campus unit. Includes scheduling and event planning, reserving locations, arranging meeting support services and follow‑up. The position will interact regularly with unit management, staff, event sponsors and vendors, and will advise and counsel sponsors and vendors on event requirements.
Responsibilities- Confer with event sponsors to determine scope and overall objectives associated with an event.
- Determine resources required and prepare event schedule based on client needs and facility availability.
- Make necessary facility reservations.
- Arrange catering requirements, facility set‑up, parking, security, etc.
- Coordinate promotional/publicizing efforts in conjunction with events.
- Prepare and administer event budgets and maintain associated records.
- Conduct follow‑up to determine adequacy of services provided in support of events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma, GED certificate, or vocational school diploma.
Required ExperienceTwo to three years of job‑related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Technical diploma, associate’s degree, or two years of college coursework.
- Basic knowledge of AV connectivity / presentation display.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience with Outlook calendar, Web Ex, and Teams virtual meeting platforms.
- Ability to manage and share data/metrics for scheduled events.
- Familiarity with event planning software.
- This is not a supervisory position.
- This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
- This position will require driving.
- This role is not considered a position of trust.
- This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).
- This position will travel.
- This position does not require security clearance.
- This position is located in Atlanta (Smyrna), GA.
- Salary: $42,797 – $58,205 (Grade A6).
- Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check.
