Minimum QualificationsHigh‑school diploma or GED required. One year of clerical, administrative support, customer‑service, or record‑management experience in a library or museum preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Specific License or Certification RequiredMay require possession and maintenance of valid State of Georgia Notary Public certification.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or AbilitiesProficiency in performing essential functions and ability to learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures.

Purpose of ClassificationPerform administrative and clerical tasks to support departmental operations: processing applications, permits, legal records, documentation, customer service, and records management.
Essential Functions- Process documentation related to department operations within established time frames and according to procedures.
- Receive, review, record, type, distribute documentation, and enter data into computer systems.
- Compile data for reports and generate computerized reports.
- Perform data entry, scanning, verification, indexing, and develop databases.
- Process applications for services, issue permits, and administer work‑order program.
- Maintain file systems, organize records, shred confidential documents, and conduct records‑maintenance activities.
- Provide customer service in person, by telephone, and by mail; respond to routine questions, research issues, process payments, issue receipts, and balance cash drawers.
- Receive and sort incoming documentation, distribute mail, sign packages, and handle outgoing mail.
- Maintain current maps, directories, operating manuals, and other reference materials.
- Conduct routine research of files, databases, hard‑copy materials, and internet sites.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and forms, ensuring availability and initiating requests or orders.
- Operate office equipment (personal computer, scanner, telephone, postage machine, dictation equipment, shredder, two‑way radio) and provide technical support and basic maintenance.
- Communicate with supervisors, employees, volunteers, other departments, county officials, vendors, and the public to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Operate, maneuver, or control equipment, machinery, tools, or materials used in essential functions. - Verbal Aptitude:
Utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information. - Mathematical Aptitude:
Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. - Functional Reasoning:
Carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form with some latitude for independent judgment. - Situational Reasoning:
Exercise judgment in repetitive or short‑cycle operations covered by established procedures.
