Position: Graduate Assistant (GA) / SMC Operations

Job Summary

Support the ongoing mission and vision of the Student Memorial Center in a Graduate Assistant position, working under the supervision of the Director of SMC Operations. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing event planning within the building and ensuring customer satisfaction with the program planning and implementation process. Additionally, this position will support the ongoing operations of the Information Desk and provide customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage event planning within the Student Memorial Center building.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with program planning and implementation.
  • Support the ongoing operations of the Information Desk and provide customer service to internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate Assistant must be enrolled in a Millersville University graduate program; non‑degree students and post‑baccalaureate certification candidates are not eligible.
  • Full‑time GA’s must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits in Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Part‑time GA’s must maintain a minimum of 3 credits in Fall and Spring semesters.
  • GA’s must be available for on‑campus work during regular and outside university business hours.
  • GA’s must be able to work an additional 5‑10 hours per week at an hourly wage.
  • Graduate Assistants must meet all eligibility requirements as detailed in GA Guidelines.
  • Graduate Assistants must work 300 hours (FT) or 150 hours (PT) per semester.
  • Stipends are paid in 8 bi‑weekly payments per semester.

Working Conditions

Weekday and weekend work; varied times during regular University Office hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $6,000 (FT) or $3,000 (PT) per year. Graduate assistants also earn tuition waiver credits of 18 credits (FT) or 9 credits (PT) per year.
