As the home of the region's only open-heart surgery program, we continue to expand our services across our Cardiovascular and Thoracic Institute.

Role Description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our elite Cardiothoracic Surgery team in Columbus, GA. This is a full-time, on-site role offering the opportunity to work alongside two highly skilled surgeons and a collaborative multidisciplinary team, at the region’s only open-heart surgery program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
  • Assist in surgical procedures, including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH).
  • Radial artery harvesting experience is a plus but not required.
  • Prescribe medications and manage perioperative care.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and recovery.
  • Participate in call rotation and provide high-quality, compassionate care.
Qualifications
  • Active PA or APRN license and board certification.
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing (APRN).
  • Previous experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred.
  • Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care.
  • Candidates completing a Cardiothoracic Postgraduate Fellowship will be considered.
Schedule
  • 1:3 call rotation
  • 20 days PTO
  • 5 days CME
  • Competitive base salary: $180,000–$220,000+ (based on experience and skill set)
