Job Summary

Columbus State University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Continuing & Professional Education (CPE) to support marketing and community outreach initiatives. This role focuses on content creation, including email campaigns, social media, promotional materials, and website updates, using innovative marketing strategies to engage diverse local audiences.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to troubleshoot and plan while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and university policies.

Responsibilities

* Assist with developing and implementing marketing strategies that support CPE
¿ s mission, values, and goals.

* Review departmental marketing materials and collaborate with staff to ensure consistency with university branding and messaging.

* Contribute to the creation of digital, visual, and multimedia content, including catalog design, photo selection, and video projects promoting CPE programs.

* Conduct research on current trends and best practices in higher education and continuing education marketing to support departmental initiatives.

* Assist in managing CPE
¿ s social media channels, creating engaging posts and maintaining a regular publication schedule.

* Support community outreach and engagement efforts, helping identify opportunities to strengthen connections between CPE and local organizations.

* Maintain and organize email lists and contact groups to support targeted marketing and communication efforts.

* Provide administrative and general office support as needed and assist with other departmental duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Graduate assistants must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) graduate semester hours at Columbus State University. Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Education, or a related field. Experience in higher education, continuing education, or youth and enrichment program settings is a plus.

Proposed Salary

Salary is commensurate of education and experience.
