Position: Educational Aide (PART TIME) - Muscogee YDC- Midland GA (NSC)
Job summary

The individual in this position assists teachers with curriculum planning, supervision of students, and teaching children in a classroom setting; assists in presenting and reinforcing learning concepts.

Primary duties & responsibilities

* provides support to teachers to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment

* assists teachers in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.

* assists the teacher in preparing lesson outlines, plans, and curricula in assigned areas

* plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids for use in the classroom, including activity

* sheets, drawings, and similar handouts

* presents subject matter to students, under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of methods including stories, discussions, and role playing

* assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts

* perform a variety of clerical duties in support of classroom activities, such as preparing, typing, copying and filing instructional materials

* operate and care for instructional equipment and materials

* observe and control behavior of students in the classroom according to approved procedures

* participate in professional growth activities

* follow the communicated policies and procedures of the school district

* performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

* associate degree from an accredited institution in general education, sociology, or related field, required

* minimum 1 year of experience in a school setting or related field

* must hold or be eligible for a georgia paraprofessional certificate

Preferred qualifications

* bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred

* minimum 2 years of experience working in an educational setting

* successful experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
