Job Summary

As an Admissions Specialist, you will play a key role in guiding prospective students through the admissions process, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience from application to enrollment. You will receive and review applications from a various group of students, verifying the information provided, and evaluate their high school and college credits, test scores, and other admission credentials to determine their eligibility for the University.

In addition to processing applications, you will serve as a trusted resource for students and families, offering guidance and answering questions about admissions requirements, academic programs, and campus life. You'll help prospective students navigate their journey to higher education by staying current on admissions policies and program requirements.

You may also engage with local high schools to recruit prospective students, sharing the University's offerings and opportunities.

Your role will extend beyond admissions processing to support campus activities, ensuring students and families feel welcomed and informed as they take their first steps toward joining the University community.

Responsibilities

Significant Duties &

Responsibilities include:

Application Review and Eligibility Determination - Receive and review applications for admission from prospective students. Apply current and appropriate admissions policies and procedures to determine eligibility for acceptance to the University.;
Policy and Procedure Awareness - Stay up to date on current admissions policies and procedures, understanding how they impact decisions regarding student acceptance or denial to the University. Follow the University System of Georgia Board of Regents' admissions guidelines and procedures in all admissions-related tasks.;
Credential Evaluation - Evaluate standardized test scores, high school and college transcripts, and credits to determine applicant eligibility. Request and evaluate additional documents as necessary to complete the application process.;
High School Recruitment and On-Site Admissions - Visit local high schools to facilitate on-site acceptance, conduct classroom visits, and encourage students to apply to CSU.;
Campus Event Support - Assist with campus events such as orientation, registration, and Discovery Days to support prospective students and their families.;
Communication with Applicants and Families - Communicate effectively with applicants, students, and families through written correspondence, email, and face-to-face meetings in the Office of Admissions.;
File Management and Follow-Up - Ensure all required documents for acceptance to the University are received by following up on pending files and completing necessary actions.;
Tuition Classification - Review documents in accordance with established policies and procedures to determine the appropriate tuition classification for students.;
Data Management and Report Analysis - Utilize reports to identify errors, update records, and analyze processing techniques for efficiency and accuracy.;
Additional Duties - Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operations of the Admissions Office.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications include:
Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with related software.;
