Responsibilities
- Understand and promote the school's mission and core values.
- Provide supervision and care to children.
- Implement age‑appropriate curriculum for children.
- Lead teachers develop, create, and execute weekly lesson plans.
- Encourage fellow teachers to contribute to curriculum planning and classroom management.
- Follow all state childcare licensing regulations.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and co‑workers.
- Help children develop self‑help skills.
- Create a fun, exciting, and loving classroom environment for children to thrive in.
- Communicate with families on children's progress and input data into appropriate systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of families and children.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child, responding appropriately and quickly.
- Attend training classes and staff meetings.
- For Lead Teachers:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Early Childhood Education (P‑5), Birth Through Kindergarten, Elementary Education, Elementary Reading & Literacy, Special Education, Child and Family Development, Child Development, or equivalent. - For Assistant Teachers:
Valid Paraprofessional Certificate (issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission);
Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; TCC (Technical Certificate of Credit) or TCD (Technical College Diploma) in Early Childhood Education; AA, AS, AAS, AAT, BA, BS, or Georgia Teaching Certificate (issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission). - CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Maintain Bright from the Start training and GA Pre‑K training requirements.
- Previous Georgia Pre‑K experience preferred.
- Patient, warm demeanor and natural love for children.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team player attitude.
- Comfort in writing lesson plans and planning daily activities.
