This posting is to recruit for existing vacancies and/or positions that become available at our various schools.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for creating a classroom environment to develop an appreciation of Drama as part of general culture; to teach techniques of Drama expression; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of Drama; and to develop knowledge and skills in Drama

REQUIREMENTS:1. Educational Level:Bachelor Degree in job related field
2. Certification/License:

Valid Georgia Teacher certification or eligibility for GA certification in Drama

Written and oral communication; instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; student management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Instructs all students and ensures each student's progress with as much individualization as possible.

Teaches courses in Drama utilizing curriculum designated by Muscogee County School District.

Develops lesson plans to include a balanced Drama program and organizes daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal, and instruction can be accomplished.

Adapts the curriculum to provide individual, small group, or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual students.

Evaluates each student's growth and performance, assessing each student's contribution to the performance of the group.

Evaluates academic and social growth of students and keeps accurate and appropriate records to include report cards, checklists, etc.

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide orderly, productive classroom environment during practice, group rehearsals, and Drama performances.

Plans, rehearses, and directs students in Drama programs for the school and community.

Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.

Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities.

Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
