Jackson County School System is seeking qualified applicants for a Special Education Teaching Position serving students at Legacy Knoll Middle School in an ISI (Resource) setting. This teacher will work with small groups of students providing instruction in the General Curriculum, and will need to hold Special Education General Curriculum as well as content certifications for all four middle grades contents.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field
- Eligible to hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Special Education
- Advanced Degree in Special Education or related field
- Hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate with the following fields:
- 798 - Special Education General Curriculum
- Math: 743, 851, 911 or 912
- English: 730, 853, 931, or 932
- Science: 748, 852, 921, or 922
- Social Studies: 755, 854, 941, or 942
- Experience working in a public school district as a Special Education teacher
- Work is performed in a standard in-person classroom setting
- Regularly involves standing, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
- May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment
- Requires the ability to use classroom technology, including projectors, computers, and learning management systems
- Regular work hours are during the school day, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent‑teacher conferences, school events, or professional development
- Must be adaptable to varying student needs and class sizes
- May include additional duties such as sponsoring extracurricular activities or supervising student clubs

- Annual Salary based on degree level and previous years of experience in a similar role
