Job DescriptionThe Part‑time Building Brains After school Program Director will be responsible for assisting the Program Supervisor with planning and implementing programming to meet the needs of the children in attendance. They will collaborate and assist After school Leaders with designing and implementing activities and assignments to encourage attendees' intellectual, creative, artistic, and athletic enrichment and abilities.
Essential Duties- Monitor individuals and small groups of students, ensuring they understand and adhere to program rules and procedures
- Maintain appropriate order and student conduct
- Maintain program standards of student behavior, enabling effective participation in activities while preserving a natural, informal atmosphere; resolve student disputes and refer serious discipline problems to the Program Supervisor
- Assist Program Supervisor with planning and conducting orientation programs for parents and students and developing a calendar of program activities
- Interact with children to build self‑esteem, establish a comfort level with peers, provide proper examples, emotional support, a friendly attitude, and guidance
- Oversee students in art and physical activities
- Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of program activities, answer telephones, and schedule activities
- Operate a variety of after school program and office supplies and equipment
- Act as a liaison between parents, staff, and school personnel; assist in conferring with parents regarding student performance and behavior
- Assist with budgeting and expenditures and inventory of equipment and supplies
- Collaborate to develop and implement a public relations agenda to promote student enrollment and communicate the objectives and activities of the after‑school program
- Monitor children to ensure their health, safety and physical well‑being
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for students; demonstrate and involve students in cleaning and organizing program areas before, during, and after use
- Lead educational programs in front of 10 to 25 children
Job Requirements / Information
- This job requires fingerprinting: candidates must undergo a comprehensive background check and obtain a satisfactory determination from the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. Continued employment is contingent upon the results of a post‑hire fingerprint‑based background check.
Salary will be $21.00 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma
- One year experience working with and monitoring school‑aged children in organized camp, after school, daycare, or a similar setting
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment
