Elementary Instructional Effectiveness Specialist

FLSA: Exempt

Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule

Work Days: 220

Location: Muscogee County Public Education Center (MCPEC)/Division of Teaching & Learning

Reports To: Director of School and District Effectiveness

Primary Function: The job of the Instructional Effectiveness Specialist is to lead and support academic coaches, strengthen instructional practices, facilitate continuous school improvement, and ensure equitable academic success for all student subgroups through coaching, professional learning, data‑driven decision‑making, and instructional leadership.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Equivalent experience in teaching, instructional coaching, and leadership is acceptable.
  • Professional teaching certification in elementary education and/or leadership required. TSC Coaching Endorsement preferred.
  • Minimum five years of successful elementary teaching experience and experience as an instructional coach, academic coach, department chair, or similar leadership role.
  • Proficiency in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student achievement; experience facilitating professional learning and supporting adult learners.
  • Strong instructional coaching, mentoring, facilitating adult learning, classroom observation and feedback, data analysis, collaborative planning, conflict resolution, and technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, student information systems).
  • Effective oral and written communication and ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to academic coaches, administrators, and instructional staff to improve instructional practices and student achievement.
  • Leads and develops academic coaches through mentoring, coaching cycles, calibration activities, and professional learning.
  • Collaborates with school and district administrators, instructional leaders, and teachers to implement school improvement initiatives and ensure equitable instructional practices.
  • Facilitates instructional coaching cycles, including classroom observations, modeling, feedback, goal setting, and follow‑up support.
  • Conducts classroom walkthroughs with administrators and instructional leaders to monitor instructional effectiveness.
  • Provides actionable feedback and instructional support to coaches, teachers, and school leaders.
  • Facilitates collaborative planning sessions, professional learning communities, and data discussions.
  • Supports implementation of high‑yield instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Leads data analysis meetings to monitor student progress and identify achievement gaps.
  • Supports implementation of district instructional initiatives, frameworks, and curriculum expectations.
  • Designs and facilitates professional development opportunities for academic coaches, teachers, and instructional leaders.
  • Maintains consistent communication and collaboration with district leadership, administrators, coaches, and teachers.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and accountability through punctuality and active participation.
  • Researches topics related to coaching models, instructional strategies, and intervention programs.
  • Performs additional school improvement, instructional leadership, and coaching‑related duties as assigned.
