The job of Elementary Instructional Support Paraprofessional is done for the purpose of assisting students under the direction of a professional educator and providing instructional support by reinforcing the teacher's instruction in the classroom.
Requirements:
1. Educational Level: Minimum 60 semester/100 quarter hours of eligible college hours OR passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment Test required. If submitting GACE scores, you will also need to provide verification of completion of a HS diploma or GED.
2. Certification/License:
Must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate which include in-service training related to position.

Activities:
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Written and oral communication; instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; student management.
Essential Duties:
1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
2. Conducts small group or individual classroom activities based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
3. Assists with supervision of students.
4. Assists with student assessment, grading work and test and collecting data on student progress.
5. Assists with routine record keeping.
6. Assists with the preparation of materials for instruction.
7. Locates, operates, and returns equipment required for classroom activities.
8. Assists with classroom housekeeping.
9. Assists in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
10. Assists with school-wide supervision, such as loading/unloading buses.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
