Job DescriptionThe Muscogee County School District's Pre‑K STEPS program provides instructional services to three‑ and four‑year‑olds with identified disabilities.
Primary FunctionInstructionally support preschool students in activities such as art, science, music, housekeeping, story time, and movement, while ensuring compliance with curriculum and policies and fostering a safe and positive learning environment.
Essential Duties- Advise parents/guardians of student progress.
- Adhere to local school procedures and regulations, fostering a supportive environment.
- Assess student needs, progress, expectations, and goals.
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.
Demonstrate punctuality and professional ethics. - Provide instruction appropriate to preschool students' learning levels.
- Communicate responsibly with all individuals and groups; maintain accurate paperwork.
- Account for student attendance and punctuality; direct conduct per school policy.
- Model conversation, manners, clean‑up activities, and listening skills.
- Follow all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
- Meet certification and accreditation standards.
- Seek professional development and evaluation to improve practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator.
- Educational Level: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Certification/License:
Eligible to obtain Georgia clear renewable teacher certification in Special Education General Curriculum P‑12 and Early Childhood Education (or all five core content areas). - Experience:

Routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Written and oral communication; instructional strategies linking curriculum to learners; student management. - Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
