Primary Function: The Instructional Assistant assists students under the direction of a certified professional VIRTUAL educator, manages classroom behavior, provides sound instructional support, and manages records such as attendance and grades. In partnership with virtual provider, assists with troubleshooting any issues with technology used for virtual learning in that classroom, and manages inventory of technology for the classroom.

Requirements
- Educational Level: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Certification/License:
None - Experience:
Proficiency in using various forms of technology required; experience in the use of classroom technology (i.e. smart board) preferred - Physical

Essential Duties
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendanceConducts classroom activities in cooperation with the virtual teacherSupervision of studentsAssists with student assessment, grading work and tests and collects data on student progressResponsible for routine record keepingPrepares or assists with the preparation of materials for instructionLocates, operates, and returns equipment required for classroom activitiesAssists with classroom housekeepingAssists in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materialsAssists with school-wide supervision, such as loading/unloading busesAdvises parents and/or legal guardians of student progressAdheres to local school procedures and regulations in a supportive manner; demonstrates loyalty to the school and its leadership; avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale; works cooperatively with colleagues and the community; promotes a positive school environment that enhances student learning; helps maintain a positive and cooperative climateAssesses student needs, progress, expectations, goals, etc.Collaborates with school personnel, parents and various community agenciesDemonstrates methods required to perform assignments to provide effective school program and address needs of individual studentsExhibits professionalism in all job related situations; follows professional ethics in all work related activatesProvides instruction that is appropriate; communicates responsibly with all individuals and groups; assumes a fair share of outside-the-classroom school responsibilities; promotes the responsible use of materials and equipment; submits accurate paperwork on schedule; prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absentAccounts for student attendance and punctuality; directs the conduct of students in accordance with policies at all times; takes all reasonable measures to protect students’ health and safetyPerforms other duties as assignedEqual Employment Opportunity Statement
