Position Details

Position Title: System Test Coordinator

FLSA: Exempt

Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule

Work Days: 220

Location: Muscogee County Public Education Center

Reports To: Senior Director of Research, Accountability and Assessment (RAA)

Primary Function

The System Test Coordinator provides strategic leadership, oversight, and governance of the district’s student testing and evaluation programs. This role is responsible for ensuring the secure, valid, and compliant administration of all local, state, and federally mandated assessments; aligning assessment operations with district instructional priorities, and maintaining the integrity of assessment data. This position serves as the district’s primary authority on assessment administration and is a critical collaborator for senior leadership, school administrators, and state agencies, ensuring effective and reliable testing programs across the Muscogee County Schools.

Requirements
  • Educational Level: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Education/Education Leadership or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Certification/License: A valid Georgia Educator Certificate (L-5 or higher) is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment in this role to satisfy GaDOE requirements.
  • Experience: A background in K-12 education and high stakes testing is required. Classroom/building leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Responsibilities: These include working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and coordinating others; operating within a defined budget; utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. This is a high-impact and high-visibility role with significant opportunity to impact MCSD’s schools and students.

  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Knowledge: Familiarity with assessment administration/security standards and regulatory requirements including accommodations, accessibility, student data privacy, and compliance for special populations.
    • Working knowledge of educational measurement and evaluation principles such as testing validity, reliability, standardized testing practices, and interpretation/use of student assessment data.
    • Possess a testing systems and technology background to help with training, troubleshooting, and end-user supports.
    • Skills:
      • Strategic leadership – demonstrate the ability to lead district-wide assessment operations by establishing a pathway to success and aligning practices across buildings/teams.
      • Program and systems management – possess skill in designing, implementing, and overseeing complex multi-site assessment programs.
      • Executive communication and influence – ability to clearly communicate complex assessment, accountability, and compliance information to a diverse stakeholder base orally and in writing.
      • Training, facilitation, and capacity-building – design and deliver system-wide professional learning for administrators and testing personnel; develop training materials/guidance; build capacity across the system.
