Reports to: Principal

Provides art instruction to students and emphasizes the importance of art work through quality exhibitions.

• Plan, implement, and assess lessons using the Process of Creation framework:
  Creating, Presenting, Responding, Connecting.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and communicate student progress to parents.
• Display and evaluate student artwork in quality exhibitions and portfolios.
• Manage classroom resources, including art supplies, and supervise student activities.
• Demonstrate consistent attendance, comply with all district policies, and pursue professional development.
• Fulfill adapted general teacher responsibilities and perform additional duties as assigned.

• Educational Level: Bachelor’s degree in art education, fine arts, visual arts, or related field.
• Certification:
  Valid GAPSC Art Education certification or eligibility for Georgia certification in Art including passage of GACE Art assessment.
• Experience:
  
  None required.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Ability to manage students, supervise classroom activities, move to supervise and support, handle art supplies, and demonstrate techniques.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  Strong written and oral communication; technical communication proficiency including email, online learning platforms, and digital tools; instructional strategies that engage diverse learners; effective classroom management; understanding of GSE Visual Arts; commitment to the Process of Creation.
