College Lecturer
Position Overview
Rutgers University–Camden, Faculty of Arts & Sciences, Biology Department, seeks part‑time lecturers to teach biology courses in the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, Spring 2027, and/or Summer 2027 semesters. Lecturers will present course material, hold office hours, administer exams, assign grades, and coordinate all other instructional requirements, including preparing a clear syllabus in accordance with Rutgers policies. Lab safety/Biosafety/Blood‑Born Pathogens (PPB) training is required for all instructors hired to teach biology laboratory courses.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
- Grading assignments, exams, projects, and laboratory work.
- Develop and update course materials and syllabi.
- Provide timely feedback to students.
- Hold and document office hours for student consultations.
- Minimum Master’s degree in biology or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of undergraduate biology concepts.
- Experience teaching biology at the college level preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver curriculum.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
- PhD or higher in biology or related discipline.
- Experience with laboratory instruction.
- Active research and publication record.
- Experience with online or hybrid teaching platforms.
