Primary Function:

The job of the Executive Director of Elementary Education is done for the purpose/s of providing strategic leadership and instructional direction for all elementary schools and oversight of state standards-aligned elementary instructional programs; ensuring the effective implementation of the district’s vision, strategic plan, curriculum, instructional practices, and accountability systems; supporting principals in improving teaching and learning; fostering positive academic outcomes for all students;

coordinating district-wide elementary initiatives; and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements related to elementary education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provides leadership, supervision, and support to elementary school principals and other assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring effective school operations, instructional leadership, and continuous school improvement.
  • Monitors and evaluates elementary school performance data, including student achievement, attendance, discipline, and other key indicators, for the purpose of identifying trends, determining needs, and guiding improvement efforts.
  • Leads the development and implementation of state and district curriculum, instructional frameworks, and assessment practices (MCSD Blueprint) across elementary schools for the purpose of ensuring alignment with state standards and district priorities.
  • Ensures the selection of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) for core and supplemental curriculum resources for the purpose of providing high quality, standards-aligned instructional resources.
  • Oversees and supports assigned programs and departmental responsibilities (e.g., Pre‑K, Brewer Early Innovation Academy, Instructional Effectiveness Specialists, Instructional Specialists, Teacher Quality Specialists) for the purpose of achieving strategic and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborates with district departments to coordinate instructional programs, student services, professional development, and operational support for the purpose of ensuring cohesive and effective services for elementary schools.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, review and revision of the district strategic plan for the purpose of continuous improvement.
  • Supports principals in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating school improvement plans for the purpose of increasing student achievement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Reviews and analyzes school and district data with principals and leadership teams for the purpose of establishing goals, measuring progress, and identifying corrective actions when needed.
  • Facilitates professional development and leadership development opportunities for elementary administrators for the purpose of strengthening instructional leadership capacity and improving student outcomes.
