Executive Director Of Elementary Education

The job of the Executive Director of Elementary Education is done for the purpose of providing strategic leadership and instructional direction for all elementary schools and oversight of state standards-aligned elementary instructional programs; ensuring the effective implementation of the district's vision, strategic plan, curriculum, instructional practices, and accountability systems; supporting principals in improving teaching and learning; fostering positive academic outcomes for all students;

coordinating district-wide elementary initiatives; and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements related to elementary education.

Requirements:

  • Educational Level: Master's degree required in job-related area.
  • Certifications/Licenses: GA Certification in Education Leadership required;
    Valid Driver's License
  • Experience:

    Job related and leadership experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
  • Equivalency:
    Three (3) or more years of experience as a principal is required. Prior experience with elementary curriculum implementation, school transformation, federal grant management, and district administrative experience is preferred.

Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to resolve issues related to areas of responsibility; strong leadership skills. Knowledge is required to read, interpret, and communicate technical information;

Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances, analyze data utilizing defined but different processes, and operate equipment using a variety of processes. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups;

    work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of types of job-related equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: establishing and maintaining confidentiality;

    facilitating communication between persons with frequently divergent positions; working as part of a team and communicating with diverse groups and individuals; transporting self to school sites, programs and support facilities.

Essential duties:

  • Provides leadership, supervision, and support to elementary school principals and other assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring effective school operations, instructional leadership, and continuous school improvement.
  • Monitors and evaluates elementary school performance data, including student achievement, attendance, discipline, and other key indicators, for the purpose of identifying trends, determining needs, and guiding improvement efforts.
  • Leads the development and implementation of state and district curriculum, instructional frameworks, and assessment practices across elementary schools for the purpose of ensuring alignment with state standards and district priorities.
  • Ensures the selection of high-quality instructional materials for core and supplemental curriculum resources.
  • Oversees and supports assigned programs and departmental responsibilities for the purpose of achieving strategic and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborates with district departments to coordinate instructional programs, student services, professional development, and operational support for the purpose of ensuring cohesive and effective services for elementary schools.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, review and revision of the district strategic plan for the purpose of continuous improvement.
