Chattahoochee Valley Libraries seek collaborative, adaptable, and curious applicants for the position of Children’s Services Coordinator. The successful candidate will have exceptionally strong leadership and communication skills, organizational abilities, community relations skills, and a passion for serving children and their families.
This supervisor will oversee the Aflac Children’s Department at Columbus Public Library, which includes a dedicated story time room and the spacious Yancey Children’s Garden. They will also coordinate Children’s programming, outreach, and materials selection for the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries. This position plays a key role in helping shape Children’s Services across the library system.
Responsibilities of the Children’s Services Coordinator include:
- Supervising, scheduling, training, and evaluating a staff of 6.5 FTEs, including one Librarian.
- Collaborating with CVL’s Community Engagement Department to curate dynamic and engaging programs for children.
- Organizing family and school focused outreach and community partnerships throughout our service area.
Qualifications:Master of Library Science or Library and Information Studies
Equivalency:Children’s Public Library experience and at least two years in a supervisory capacity, preferred and within six months of completion of an MLS or MLIS
Salary:$60,000 / year
