Teacher of Visually Impaired - Columbus, GA

Make a real difference in students’ lives as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired supporting learners onsite for the upcoming school year! You'll collaborate directly with school staff and families to create meaningful experiences for students with visual impairments.

• Current Georgia educator certification specific to teaching students with visual impairments (TVI)
• Experience in schools, preferably working with a range of age groups or open to placements based on experience and preference
• Strong documentation habits—daily service logs are required
• Clear communication, flexibility, and a collaborative approach with school teams
• Willingness to fully support students onsite; remote candidates will not be considered

• Provide expert direct instruction and interventions for visually impaired students in a K–12 setting, using individualized techniques
• Develop and implement instructional materials based on students’ unique needs and IEP goals
• Maintain accurate daily service documentation and contribute thoughtfully to IEP meetings
• Engage families, staff, and other service providers to maximize student outcomes
• Adapt to evolving caseload assignments; placements are matched after discussion with leadership to ensure the best fit for both educator and students
