Chinese Language Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Chinese Language Teacher to join Edu Kiz Pte Ltd in the Newton Central Region. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in shaping the linguistic and cultural development of students from 3 to 16 year old. As a Chinese Language Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a love of the Chinese language and culture whilst developing students' communication skills, confidence and academic excellence.

This role is essential to our commitment to providing high-quality language education that prepares students for future success in an increasingly globalised world.

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and interactive Chinese language lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities within primary school classes

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum materials, lesson plans and learning resources that align with educational standards and objectives

• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement

• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters confidence in language learning

• Integrate cultural awareness and understanding into lessons to help students appreciate the richness of Chinese culture and heritage

• Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate curriculum delivery and share best practices in language teaching

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and achievements

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and learning outcomes

• Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with innovative teaching methodologies

• Support extracurricular Chinese language activities and cultural events within the school

• A recognised qualification in Education with specialisation in Chinese language instruction

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (both simplified and traditional characters) with strong written and verbal communication skills

• A solid understanding of Chinese language curricula and teaching methodologies

• Proven experience teaching Chinese language to preschool / primary or secondary school students, demonstrating successful student engagement and learning outcomes

• Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and disciplined learning environment

• Strong organisational and time management abilities

• The capacity to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners at various proficiency levels

• Passion for fostering cultural awareness and intercultural understanding among students

• Effective communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students and families

• A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice

• Preferred:
  Experience with digital learning tools and technologies that enhance language instruction
