Principal Quality Engineer; Onsite

What You Will Do

• Analyze data to facilitate process improvements; assist with process certification projects to implement process improvements; develop and stand up methods of process certification and control for legacy manufacturing (e.g. control charts, statistical process control, etc.).
• Work with a multifunctional team to improve Quality-focused business metrics, such as COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and yield.
• Support outsourced process suppliers with process certification and improvement activities.
• Implement SPC on current and future production processes.
• Work with suppliers to help them meet P&W quality requirements; create and maintain key relationships with Suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering, Procurement, and support organizations to resolve production challenges in a high paced environment.
• Conduct reject data analysis using Solumina and SAP to collect and analyze data to implement process and design changes at suppliers to improve their quality and productivity.
• Engage with NSA/MCL, Engineering, Materials and critical stakeholders and visit suppliers to improve overall quality signature of supplier.
• Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous improvement initiatives at the Supplier in reaction to escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time. Hold Suppliers accountable for root cause and corrective actions and implement sustainable corrective/preventive action on all escapes/issues.
• Team with Engineering and Procurement to execute proactive supply base improvement plans that improve Quality signature and to ensure customer confidence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or similar environment OR a Master’s degree and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or similar environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Demonstrated experience meeting commitments in a deadline driven environment; ability to balance and resolve conflicting priorities.

• Degree in aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or quality engineering.
• Hands on work experience in a quality environment.
• Working knowledge of AS9100.
• Proficiency in SAP/Solumina.
• Certified Quality Engineer or Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt.
• Practical experience in APQP techniques.
• Experience in high‑volume manufacturing environment.
