Role location:
Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center, Columbus, GA. This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines.

Job Summary

Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands-on, team-driven environment, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

This is a 1st Shift position:
Monday – Thursday 5:30 am – 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
  • Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
  • Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a mechanic role or appropriate technical training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
    Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
