Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. (JLL) seeks a Lead Engineer to oversee operations and maintenance for a commercial real estate portfolio. You will lead a team of building engineers, ensuring reliable performance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems while driving energy efficiency and sustainability. Responsibilities include scheduling and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance, managing vendors, supporting capital improvement projects, monitoring building management systems, ensuring code and safety compliance, and responding to tenant service requests.
You'll partner closely with property and facility managers to deliver high-quality, data-driven building performance and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations and maintenance of building systems (MEP, life safety, controls)
- Supervise and develop building engineering staff and coordinate work assignments
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Monitor and optimize building management systems for performance and energy efficiency
- Support and coordinate capital improvement and equipment replacement projects
- Manage vendors and contractors, including scope, scheduling, and quality control
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Respond to and resolve tenant and client service requests promptly
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports for inspections and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with property and facility managers to meet client performance goals
