Job Description:

• Assist leadership with important financial decisions and provide insights and recommendations
• Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business
• Supervise employees who work under the controller in preparing financial reports and budgets
• Monitor company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
• Keep up-to-date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas
• Streamline financial processes and workflows to enhance productivity and effectiveness
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations and policies
• Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to support audit findings
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity needs. Develop strategies for optimizing cash resources and managing working capital
• Multi-State and local government sales tax reporting and management

Skills and

Qualifications:

• The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations
• Attention to detail
• Organization and project management
• Experience with both cash and accrual accounting methods
• Experience and working knowledge of 2- and 3-way PO process
• Quick Books Online Experience
• Avalara Tax Software experience
• Experience working with a service and product-based company a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• 5+ years’ experience as a Controller, preferably within a similar industry
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
