Role Description The Commercial Loan Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, GA. This position supports commercial lenders by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating loan closings, monitoring loan servicing activities, tracking required documentation, and maintaining updated records in the loan systems. The role involves regular customer contact to obtain information, respond to inquiries, and provide status updates, while collaborating with internal teams such as credit, operations, and compliance.
The Commercial Loan Assistant also helps resolve documentation issues, supports portfolio management tasks, and contributes to efficient and timely processing of commercial loans.
Qualifications
- Experience with commercial loans, including basic understanding of loan structures and terminology.
- Skills in Loan Servicing and ongoing loan maintenance to support accurate records and timely follow-up.
- Ability to prepare, review, and track Loan Documents, ensuring completeness and compliance.
- Experience coordinating Loan Closings, including scheduling, document preparation, and funding support.
- Strong Customer Service skills for communicating with business clients and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and banking or loan systems is preferred.
- Prior experience in banking, lending, or financial services is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
