Job Summary:
Performs technical procedures using ultrasound waves that require independent judgement based on knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and the normal and abnormal variation. Verifies patient’s identification and physician’s orders; prepares patients for exams and explains procedures while performing studies. Obtains and documents patient’s medical history. Obtains pertinent diagnostic examinations for physicians in relation to the ultrasound. Correlates the clinical history with the test to be performed.
Consults with referring physicians regarding patient’s previous history and decision of appropriate ultrasonic procedures required. Transmits the permanent recordings of the scans for protection and filing. Maintains a daily log and procedural manual. Performs a high-quality study in accordance with ICAUL and ICAEL guidelines. All other duties as assigned.

- Education: Graduate from an approved school for Diagnostic Ultrasound.
- Experience: Registered Ultrasound Technologist Preferred.
- Liciensure/Certification: Certification as an Ultrasound Technologist. CPR Certification.
- Skills: Above average communication skills and ability to relate effectively to the public and health care professionals.
- Working Conditions: Pleasant inside environment. Moderate physical effort. Moderate mental concentration and stress. Subject to exposure to infectious conditions and minor hazards such as muscle sprains, cuts and bruises.
