Works with the following population
Male and female adults, 18 years of age and older, with addictive diseases.
Days & TimeThis position will work 40 hours a week. Monday through Friday. Most programs work from 8am to 5pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Pay$33,072 per year
Job Responsibilities- Conducting evidence-based group sessions with individuals who have been identified with a substance abuse disorder.
- Documenting daily notes on progress in groups.
- Providing resources in the surrounding community that aid in maintaining sobriety.
- Aiding in increasing coping and basic living skills.
Assist in crisis situations by providing emotional support and utilizing de‑escalation techniques. Collaborate with the crisis intervention team to ensure the safety and well‑being of individuals in distress.
Treatment PlanningCollaborate with mental health professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Provide input from a peer perspective to enhance the effectiveness of treatment strategies.
AdvocacyAdvocate for clients' rights and needs within the healthcare system and community. Empower individuals to navigate social services, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and resources.
Documentation and ReportingMaintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress. Prepare reports and documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Education and OutreachConduct educational sessions for clients, families, and community members to raise awareness about mental health issues and reduce stigma. Participate in outreach activities to connect with individuals who may benefit from peer support services.
CollaborationCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals, to ensure holistic care for clients. Attend team meetings and case conferences to contribute a peer perspective to the overall care plan.
QualificationsHigh school diploma / GED with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in this field
-OR- the completion of a Bachelor's degree in social science (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a related discipline) and one (1) year of full-time experience working with individuals with mental health disorders and/or addictive diseases. Must have Bachelor's in above named fields to be MHC eligible (Mental Health Clinician).
A Bachelor's Degree and experience in working with individuals with mental disorders and/or addictive diseases.
