The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the John B Amos OP Cancer Center, IP Oncology unit, and other clinical services as assigned.
Under the Direction of the Executive Director of Oncology Services, this role has administrative and operational responsibility for assigned departments, including management of cost and finance, human resources, operations, quality of care and clinical outcomes, patient, physician and staff satisfaction, change management and any other relevant responsibilities related to this position. Serves as part of the management team promoting the mission, vision and values of Piedmont Healthcare and the John
B. Amos Cancer Center, embracing a person-centered philosophy while promoting patient- family centered services across the continuum and enhancing value driven outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, organizing, and decision making by analyzing responsibilities considering system policies, accreditation requirements, etc. and establishes priorities among key objectives.
- Forecasts, plans, and establishes goals and objectives for department(s) which maximizes system effectiveness utilizing defined human and fiscal resources.
- Prepares budgets, allocates financial resources in accordance with system priorities, and manages within budget.
- Carefully assesses and uses good judgment regarding utilization of resources to provide quality patient care and/or delivery of services that are both cost effective and of good value to both the customer and the organization.
- Effectively communicates system policies/procedures, and other relevant information to employees, relevant administrators, medical staff members and other system personnel in a timely manner.
- Establishes and explains performance standards to employees; provides ongoing feedback and support; documents areas of needed employee improvements; assigns tasks considering employee development and improvement requirements.
- Shows consistency with applicable policies and procedures in administering personnel decisions in recruitment, selection, promotion, and evaluation of performance.
- Ensures quality and appropriateness of care, ensuring staff provide support activities appropriate to population served.
- Evaluates overall operations of each area to evaluate and determine efficiency of each area (including appropriate use of current technology, exemplary customer service and cost containment practices).
- Coordinates and administers an effective service delivery system that recognizes and measures the needs of all customers including patients, visitors, employees, other departments, and physicians.
MINIMUM
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in work related field required.
Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MSHA, etc.) in related field preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Minimum of (3) years’ clinical experience and (5) years of progressive management experience required.

None
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
If RN, graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
