The JTAC-I/Sim Operator is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Columbus, GA. This role is responsible for operating and managing Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) simulation systems to support training events, exercises, and evaluations. The JTAC‑I/Sim Operator will help plan, set up, and execute simulations, ensuring systems are configured correctly and scenarios accurately reflect mission requirements. Daily tasks include coordinating with instructors and training staff, monitoring performance during simulations, and providing feedback and insights to improve training outcomes.
The role also involves maintaining and troubleshooting simulation equipment, updating software and scenario libraries, and documenting training activities in accordance with applicable standards and procedures. The JTAC‑I/Sim Operator will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, realistic, and effective training for Warfighters.
- Experience with JTAC training, simulation operations, or closely related military training systems, with the ability to operate and manage complex simulation platforms.
- Strong understanding of military training environments, doctrine, and procedures, especially as they relate to close air support and joint fires.
- Technical aptitude for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer‑based simulation hardware and software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with instructors, trainees, and technical staff, and to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and document multiple training events and tasks.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety, compliance with standards, and realism in training scenarios.
- Prior military or defense training experience is highly desirable; JTAC, JFO, or related operational background is a plus.
- Relevant education, certification, or training in simulation operations, training support, or a related technical field is preferred.
