Educational Sign Language Interpreter

Make a lasting impact supporting students' communication needs in an inclusive educational setting. A full-time or potentially part-time opportunity is available for skilled professionals experienced as Sign Language Interpreters. This contract role will be based onsite at a vibrant school community near Columbus, GA, running from now through May 21, 2027, with possible additional pre- or post-planning days.

• Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language and vice versa to facilitate clear, effective communication for students, staff, and families.
• Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and administrators to support each student’s unique needs.
• Adapt to age groups and educational contexts, with placement tailored during the interview process to match your preferences and experience.
• Complete daily service logs to accurately document interpreted sessions as required by the district.

• Candidates must hold an active GA Educator Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
• Alternatively, SLI paraprofessionals with close EIPA scores who are planning to retake the exam may be considered for a tech role with the goal of transitioning to a full SLI position during the school year.
• Attention to detail and comfort with daily documentation is essential.
