Job SummaryThe Vice President for Student Affairs is a cabinet-level executive reporting to the Chief Student Experience Officer (CSXO) and serving as a key member of the University’s senior leadership team. This role provides strategic direction for programs and services that promote belonging, engagement, wellness, and success across all student populations. This executive leader drives a holistic, inclusive, and data-informed approach to student life, aligning student affairs strategy with institutional mission and measurable outcomes in retention, completion, and post-graduation success.
In addition, the Vice President oversees the University’s student conduct system and provides executive leadership for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The University’s Title IX Coordinator, who also serves as the Director of the Center for Accommodation and Access, holds a dual role: reporting directly to the General Counsel and Chief Legal Affairs Officer for Title IX compliance and to the Vice President for Student Affairs for ADA compliance.
This dual-reporting structure ensures compliance responsibilities are aligned with both the University’s legal framework and its student success priorities, supporting fair, transparent, and equity-driven processes that promote accountability, safety, and a respectful learning environment.
Through collaborative leadership, the Vice President advances a seamless, data-informed, and inclusive student engagement from enrollment through post‑graduate achievement, while championing initiatives that support both student development and campus community standards.
ResponsibilitiesSignificant Duties &
Responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership and Planning (25%) – Develop and execute a comprehensive Student Engagement Strategy aligned with institutional goals. Lead the integration of student success, well‑being, and belonging initiatives across academic and administrative units. Represent the student voice in executive decision‑making and institutional planning.
- Student Success, Engagement, and Belonging (20%) – Foster a campus culture centered on care, belonging, and student achievement. Design and assess programs that enhance student engagement, leadership development, and co‑curricular learning. Partner with Academic Affairs to improve student retention, progression, and completion.
- Health, Wellness, and Safety (15%) – Oversee counseling, health services, accessibility, basic needs, and crisis management. Implement proactive well‑being initiatives and coordinated care models. Ensure compliance with Title IX, Clery, ADA/Section 504, and related policies.
