Overview
The Associate Director, Commercial Engagements & P2P Strategy leads Takeda’s first commercial footprint in Dermatology through national congresses, regional conferences, Advisory Boards, and peer‑to‑peer engagements. This role shapes educational programming and conference participation, cultivating trust across internal teams and external partners in a rapidly evolving market. Reporting to the Director, Head of HCP Engagements.
Responsibilities- Champion Med Comm strategy; lead a team dedicated to the creation, execution, and communication of congresses, conferences, advisory boards, and P2P engagements for the dermatology brand.
- Support the development of others, fostering a positive culture within the team and cross‑functional partners.
- Lead a team that owns and executes congress activities, including booth design, digital and print assets, presentations/content, and engagements; support strategy, development, planning, and execution of key national and regional congresses.
- Build relationships with medical associations leadership to represent Takeda and our values.
- Lead cross‑functional teams toward a shared vision of success within a fast‑paced hybrid of in‑person and virtual environments.
- Provide on‑site support and leadership during live events and organize post‑event readouts.
- Lead and oversee congress booth staff for scheduling, training, and certification.
- Build strategy for regional conference assets to support field initiatives for optimal presence.
- Partner with external agencies and contractors to develop and execute creative briefs, sponsorship tactics, and meeting logistics.
- Assume budget accountability for sponsor ships and agency spend, including project scope and monthly accrual process.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews to evaluate brand/agency collaboration and performance, highlighting successful actions and aligning future plans.
- Lead a team that develops, plans, and executes P2P engagements and the annual Speaker Bureau training, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Build the strategic annual plan for the Brand team, inclusive of all fee‑for‑service activities.
- Oversee the speaker bureau, ensuring training records, compliance monitoring, and execution meet internal guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure asset approval and regulatory compliance.
- Advocate on behalf of the speaker bureau, sharing feedback and contributing to process improvements.
- Manage spend against budget, reconcile monthly reporting, and oversee advisory board development.
- Oversee logistics and vendor coordination for advisory board meetings and lead post‑meeting debriefs to synthesize insights into actionable recommendations.
Required
- Dermatology experience required;
Psoriasis therapeutic expertise strongly preferred. - Bachelor’s degree required, preferred focus in Biology, Marketing, Strategy, or Business Administration.
- 10+ years of commercial biopharmaceutical experience, including substantial expertise in speaker bureau management and congress marketing.
- 2+ years in leadership roles, demonstrating progressive experience in marketing or sales within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience leading and executing congress strategies, tactics, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Experience leading Speaker Bureau strategy, training, content development, and execution of national‑level programs.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to set direction, generate commitment, resolve issues, and evaluate risk.
- Ability to collaborate and influence cross‑functional teams without authority.
- Organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication, learning agility, financial management, and budgeting capabilities.
- Willingness to travel to internal and external meetings and conferences, including overnight stays.
Preferred
- New product launch experience.
- In‑depth knowledge of buy‑and‑bill reimbursement models and payer dynamics.
- Skilled in complex biologics.
