- Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educators Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Required.
- Specialist’s Degree in a related field. Required.
- Doctoral Degree in a related field. Preferred.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in information technology or a related field. Required.
- District and leadership experience. Preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and project management experience.
- Ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis to plan and execute.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and foster progressive working relationships with stakeholders and staff to develop partnerships and collaboration.
- Excellent organization and human relations skills.

Supervise and provide leadership for all data governance initiatives for the district and continuously improve data quality to support the advancement of the mission, vision, goals, and beliefs established by the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Superintendent and Board of Education.
- Provide leadership to establish data policies, standards, and information management procedures.
- Provide leadership in the development and delivery of data‑driven reports for school‑based and district‑level stakeholders that provide actionable information to improve student achievement.
- Provide leadership in the continual development of best practices in reporting and data collection.
- Provide leadership in the oversight of all K‑12 student data and support the development of applications to support teaching, business operations, and information access.
- Act as the liaison for districts data management, governance, quality, and vendor relationships across the enterprise and serve as the Chief Privacy Officer for the organization.
- Provide leadership and direction for the effective management of student data related information assets.
- Direct the administration of information security and privacy requirements of district data as it relates to privacy laws, industry regulations, and compliance mandates including serving as the privacy officer for the district with the Georgia Department of Education.
- Provide department leadership.
- Initiate, Plan, Coordinate, Execute, and Monitor work for the Data Governance Department for the organization.
- Work collaboratively with other department heads to meet the districts mission and objectives.
- Supervise, evaluate, and coach the work of departmental personnel.
- Lead the development and management of program budgets within the department.
- Communicate with internal and external audiences.
- Articulate and communicate programs and processes within the department.
- Participate with cross-divisional data quality processes, analysis, and reporting of student data.
- Ensure the Chief Strategy Officer is apprised of significant changes, events, and actions in the Department of Data Governance, including projections, trends, and analysis of issues.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
